Reminder: Use Safekey For All Required Events

August 3, 2021

The Government is reminding the public about “the need to use SafeKey and follow the SafeKey guidelines for both indoor as well as outdoor events and activities.”

A Government spokesperson said, “And more specifically, vaccination cards, vaccine certificates, or a negative test result are not authorised methods of access into any SafeKey event, venue or activity.

“Attendees must have a SafeKey QR code. The public is urged to remain vigilant when it comes to protecting themselves and others from the coronavirus.

“Therefore, it is critical for those attending large social events, entertainment parties, boat cruises or other crowded gatherings to properly use the SafeKey validation and adhere to mask-wearing requirements.

How can safekey be an even more effective statement than a current test result?! Seriously? Safekey is very dated whereas a test from yesterday is current and more accurate! Cmon Government back off and let us live our lives!

Come on guys, we have to use it. How else will we justify the cost that didn’t go out to tender?

I have a safe key and agree with it, and the use of it. However, I like many people, can attest to the fact that safekey event policing has been inconsistent at best. I’ve never once had anyone scan and verify. Most just ask to see the date, and other places don’t ask at all. I’ve stood in line and heard a woman behind me say that she sent a friend a copy of her certificate so she could get in. The only thing that prevented me from reporting her was that she said the only reason she did it was because her friend did have a certificate but had left her printed copy at home. However it made me think how easily people may be taking advantage of the weaknesses in the system or the policing of it.

The safe key is only as good if used and policed properly. If we’re going to ask some people to play by the rules and allow others not to and look the other way at the same time then What is the point and what are we wasting our time for. Let Darwin’s Law take care of things.

The Government reminded people to wear a mask at SafeKey events. What happen to the mask wearing over the Cup Match holiday. Little to NO wearing of masks and NO physical distancing at these “SafeKey” events. Party on Bermuda we are dancing ourselves into another lockdown real soon.

  5. Warrior says:

Put money in and now want to keep taxpayers out of events they are paying for. Cunny cup is a bust you lot.
