Minister Presents Grants To Historical Societies
Minister of Youth, Culture and Sport, Dr. Ernest Peet recently presented $11,000 in funding to the St. George’s Historical Society and the Bermuda Historical Society, respectively.
Minister Peets presented St. George’s Historical Society’s President Jeannie Olander with a cheque for $5,000 and the Bermuda Historical Society’s Andrew Bermingham with a cheque for $6,000.
“Each year, the Department Culture provides a series of grants for organisations with a demonstrated need. These grants help to support Bermuda’s cultural and artistic communities. These most recent grants will go towards helping the two organisations in their cultural and educational awareness and support efforts,” a spokesperson said.

Where is the Black Historical society in St. George’s?
I very much appreciate what the St. George’s Historical Society does for Bermuda in general and the east end in particular. But borrowing money to fund them? Really?
It is a token when you consider how much gets given to clubs, con artists and former premiers.
It is much smaller but very much appreciated I am sure.
It is a grant. Where does it say borrow?
It’s OUR money not the Government’s!!!!!
