Photos: Second Day Of BIU Protest March
Members of the Bermuda Industrial Union [BIU] as well as some other supporters gathered again today [Aug 31] to protest an aspect contained in the Trade Union & Labour Relations [Consolidation] Act 2021.
The BIU called for their non-essential members to gather for two days in protest of the latest legislation, which the Government has said they have “no intention” of amending, and you can view our first set of photos here, the second set of photos here, and our live updates here.
Does anyone wonder why we have a COVID problem? Looking at the photos will answer that…
The same basic information below is found on every union website (outside Bermuda) I looked at.
“All bargaining-unit employees can sign petitions and vote in decertification elections regardless of union member status. Decertification occurs if a majority of the employees vote against the union. A tie vote will result in decertification because the union has received less than a majority of the votes cast.”
People must realize that this is not just about the unions but about us and how we are going to live our lives in the future and how our children will live.
This is about our right to be free to do what we want
Look like the Boss of all this trench digging on our roads is a part of that march while his workers are still at work. Figure that out. Looks like a certain Pastor has more time to march than to pastor. Figure that out.
When will we Bermudians wake up and smell the coffee and stop letting these individuals pull the wool over our eyes.
I believe there is a PLP conference in the near future and that backbencher is possibly trying to position himself for a challenge.
I believe it is unfortunate how that individual is trying to be popular but has not increased membership by that popularity. Is there a Word from the Lord.
