TBi Partners With TCS To Provide Internet Access
Transitional Community Services has partnered with TeleBermuda International [TBi] in order to provide easier access to the internet for “disenfranchised young adult males.”
A spokesperson said, “Transitional Community Services [TCS], Registered Charity #1020, formed to meet the growing needs of disenfranchised young adult males 18-34. TCS developed a wrap-around service called the Community Bridge Builders Program, which provides care management [case management], counseling, and employability skill-building.
“We have a team of male Leadership Coaches, and a Program Resource Manager who works collaboratively with the Leadership Coaches to establish their network supports to assist young adult males with developing their own network of supports. The program design and decision-making process are informed through the lived experiences of the men they serve.
“TCS looks to break down the barriers that impede the paths to success for those being served.

“One of the recurring barriers TCS became aware of was the lack of internet access either at home or while travelling throughout the community. With this being an increasingly technological world, many of those in service had limited or no access to email, applications, services, etc., and limited ways to reach their Leadership Coaches for support.
“This became especially prevalent during shelter-in-place periods and in circumstances where there is limited access to transportation.
“The affordable, customized service that TeleBermuda [TBi] provides gives those who are actively engaged with TCS access to TBi hotspots all across the island. Given an opportunity as basic as internet access makes the journey to success that much more attainable. One of TCS’s core values is collaboration, so we are excited about this partnership and look forward to the future with TBI.”
“TBi is delighted to support organizations like TCS that align with our desire to connect people to new opportunities and education,” said Lee Greene, President of TBi.
“This collaboration provides TBi with the chance to connect these young men to a brighter future, thanks to digital technology.”
