Bermuda Bowling Team Heading To Colombia
Bermuda’s National Men’s Bowling Team leave the island on Wednesday for Cali Colombia to compete in the Pan American and Champion of Champions tournament, which will serve as the qualification events for next years World Cup and World Games
The tournament runs from October 15th – 22nd, 2021.
The team of David Maycock, Lamar Richardson, Damien Matthews, Carl Reid, Dennis Joell, Dayvon Tucker, and Steven Riley will compete in men’s singles, doubles, trios, and the prestigious team event. Each event will consist of 6 qualifying games to determine who wins gold, silver, and bronze. The team will be up against over 25 countries from the Western Hemisphere including overall favorites Team USA.
The top four total team scores will determine who qualifies for next year’s World Cup and the top two Doubles All events scores from each country will determine the four qualifying spots for next summer’s World Games.
Bermuda bowlers are looking to keeping their qualification success going as they just recently qualified for the next CAC games this past August.
The team will be coached by new national team coach Fero Williams who will also be joining the team in Colombia.
The event will also serve as a warm-up for Maycock, Matthews, Richardson, and Joell who will head to Dubai United Arab Emirates next month for the International Bowling Federation Super World Championships.
