BPS: Please Do Not Circulate Misinformation

October 29, 2021

The police are yet again appealing to people to please stop circulating misinformation saying it can “cause alarm,” with the police stating “there is no truth” to claims made in a voice note “suggesting officers are engaged in a firearms incident” at Warwick Camp.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is once again appealing to the public to not circulate unfounded rumours and misinformation, since this serves no purpose other than to create discomfort and cause alarm in our community.

“The BPS is aware of a voice note and accompanying image suggesting officers are engaged in a firearms incident involving a soldier at the Royal Bermuda Regiment, Warwick Camp Headquarters.

“We wish to make it clear there is no truth to these claims.”
