Barrier Breaking Travel For BCB’s Rajan Simons
Rajan Simons — the Bermuda Cricket Board Marketing & Fund Development Manager — is currently traveling with the team for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Americas Regional Qualifiers in Antigua, making her the first female BCB member to travel with the Senior Men’s National Team.
The Bermuda Cricket Board shared the photo below on Twitter, saying: “Our Marketing/Assistant Manager, Rajan is the first woman to ever travel with the Senior Men’s National Team.”
Ms Simons told Bernews, “I’m definitely looking forward to the possibility of a future in team management, I’ve been learning the ropes from Mr. Russell Richardson who is brilliant and has been touring with our National Teams for 50+ years. It’s been challenging but such a great, experience.
“I’ve spent the majority of my 2.5 years at the Bermuda Cricket Board behind my desk, so to get out and create and meet people who I’ve had endless Zoom calls and email exchanges with has been exciting.”
