Video: Kole Hall Scores In Radcliffe FC Victory

November 1, 2021

Bermuda’s Kole Hall scored for Radcliffe FC as they recorded a 3 – 1 victory over Frickley Athletic, with the Radcliffe FC advancing to the next round of the FA Trophy.

The club’s match report said, “Radcliffe are through to the next round of the FA Trophy, running out 3-1 winners against Frickley Athletic at the Neuven Stadium.

“Radcliffe started in the best possible way on the fifteen minute mark, by managing to break the deadlock through Bermuda International, Kole Hall. Matty Crothers curled a superb corner into the box which was expertly nodded home by Kole Hall with a downwards header, to ring some early smiles around the Radcliffe faithful.

“However, the visitors found a quick reply just four minutes later. Frickley were awarded a free kick in an excellent position just outside the box, with Piteu Crou making the most of the opportunity by bending the ball over the wall and into the back of the net, leaving Cam Belford routed to the spot as he helplessly watched it fly past him.

“The Boro stepped up the pace after Frickley’s goal, striving to get a goal before half time which would’ve changed Bobby Grant’s team talk at the break. Nevertheless, it was all to play for in the second half as Radcliffe couldn’t find the goal they craved, despite having numerous opportunities to do so. The best chance came from goalscorer, Kole Hall, who saw his back-heeled attempt gathered by Jake Askew after some great build up play by Taylor Jones. He danced through three men inside the box before sending a low ball into the 23-year-old who couldn’t take his chance with his back to goal.

“Frickley were left ruing their opportunity even more soon after, as Radcliffe managed to go back in front with in-form Bobby Grant getting on the scoresheet for the eleventh time this season. Preston-loanee Jack Baxter played the ball into Kole Hall down the left side of the box, he thought about a shot but smartly picked out Bobby Grant who was waiting patiently for a pass at the back post, he couldn’t believe his luck as he tapped the ball into the corner of the gaping net, with Jake Askew being nowhere to be found.

“Piteu Crouz looked to replicate his goal in the first half with a free kick in a similar position, however his luck ran out on this occasion as he let fly from the edge of the box, the ball fortunately landing on top of the net rather than dipping into the top corner, to the relief of the Radcliffe fans behind the goal.

“With two minutes of the ninety to go, Frickley were reduced to ten men as a moment of madness from Bradley Wells sent him into the changing rooms earlier than his teammates. Taylor Jones and the forward hurled themselves towards an over the top ball before both players landed on the deck. Wells got up the quicker of the two, he then lashed out and planted his foot on the back of Taylor Jones’ head as he lay on the floor, putting a dampener on a fairly positive afternoon.

“Jack Baxter capped off a fine Radcliffe display as he found a third goal of the day for the boys in blue. Luca Navarro made an instant impact after coming onto the pitch just a minute earlier, assisting Baxter who found space inside the box to fire a driving low shot into the bottom corner.

“That goal confirmed Radcliffe’s place in the first round of the FA Trophy, the game will be played on Saturday the 13th of November. Our next game is next Saturday, as we look to make it four league wins on the trot by welcoming Mickleover to the Neuven Stadium in the Northern Premier League.”
