Photos & Video: Remembrance Day Ceremony
[Updated with photos] A Remembrance Day ceremony — which has been scaled back due to the pandemic - is scheduled to be held today [Nov 11] to pay respects to the Bermudians who served in the two World Wars of the 20th century and other conflicts, many of whom did not return home after making the ultimate sacrifice.
The Government previously said “this year’s Remembrance Day observance will be a Covid-safe, limited in person event.
“The observances start at 10.30 a.m., with the laying of wreaths by invited guests including, Her Excellency the Governor, Rena Lalgie and the Premier, the Hon. David Burt, JP, MP,” a spokesperson said.
“As a note, there will be no public admission to the Cabinet Office grounds. There will also be street closures in Hamilton for the duration of the modified, scaled down ceremony.
“The Royal Bermuda Regiment [RBR] will support the ceremony with a Guard on parade. And the RBR Regiment Band and Corps of Drums will perform in a seated, static position during the ceremony.”
