Results: Premier & First Division Football

Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this past weekend, with Dandy Town Hornets, Somerset Trojans, Southampton Rangers, Devonshire Cougars, and Young Men Social Club all earning wins.

Premier Division

PHC Zebras 1 – Dandy Town Hornets 2

At the PHC Stadium, the Dandy Town Hornets remained unbeaten in the league with a 2 – 1 win over the PHC Stadium.

The Dandy Town Hornets took the lead in the 10th minute, Jomei Bean-Lindo doubled the lead in the 54th minute, but the PHC Zebras got themselves back into the match in the 57th minute when Antwan Russell scored from the penalty spot, but they could not get the equalizer.

Somerset Trojans 5 – X-Roads 0

At the Somerset Cricket Club, the Somerset Trojans defeated X-Road’s 5 – 0. Tavahn Tyrell gave the Somerset Trojans the lead in the 3rd minute, Jeze Butterfield doubled the home teams lead four minutes later. Justin Corday would make it 3 – 0 to the Somerset Trojans in the 68th minute before Nathan Rego scored in the 70th and 86th minutes to make the final score 5 – 0.

Southampton Rangers 2 – Somerset Eagles 1

At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers moved off the bottom of the table following their come from behind 2 – 1 win over the Somerset Eagles.

Ethan Furbert gave the Somerset Eagles the lead in the 8th minute, but in the 74th minute the Southampton Rangers were level when Yuzaire bean scored, and in the 84th minute Dion Stovell would connect from a cross to score what proved to be the winner for the Southampton Rangers.

North Village Rams 0 – Devonshire Cougars 1

At the Bernard Park, the Devonshire Cougars defeated the North Village Rams 1 – 0. The lone goal of the game came when Makai Battersbee scored.

First Division

Paget Lions 1 – Young Men Social Club 3

In the lone First Division match of the day, Young Men Social Club defeated the Paget Lions 3 – 1 at the Bernard Park.

Social Club took the lead in the 4th minute when Ryan Parris converted a penalty. The Paget Lions equalized in the 53rd minute when Omari Darrell scored, but in the 82nd minute Young Men Social Club went back in front when Ryan Parris scored his second goal of the game, and then in injury time Teiko Lowe scored for Young Men Social Club making the score 3 – 1.
