Two Motorcyclists Injured In Collision In Sandys

[Updated] Two men were transported to hospital this evening [Dec 28] following a two vehicle collision in Sandys.

A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before 7pm on Tuesday 28th December, police and first responders were dispatched to a report of a two vehicle collision just east of Woody’s Drive in Sandys.

“Details are limited however, early information suggests that a male on a motorcycle was exiting the Bermuda Coast Guard facility and a male on another motorcycle was traveling in a westerly direction, when they were involved in a collision.

“Both males aged 27 and 54 years old, were transported to hospital via ambulance, with what is being described as serious facial injuries.

“Traffic heading in both directions is at a complete stand still while the scene is being processed.

“Motorist are being asked to remain patient or to avoid the area until the roads have been reopened.”

Update 9.05pm: A Regiment spokesperson said, “We are aware that one of our soldiers was injured as he left work at the RBR Coast Guard. As I’m sure the public will appreciate, our focus now is entirely on support to the injured soldier and his loved ones and no further comment will be made at this stage. The RBR has, of course, offered its full cooperation to the Bermuda Police Service.”
