Domestic Violence Awareness Panel On Jan 31
The Government media will be hosting a Domestic Violence Awareness Panel on Monday [Jan 31] at 6:00pm, with the Minister saying that they have “panelists who will share their expertise as we bring awareness to the critical issue of domestic violence.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Minister of Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinee Furbert JP MP would like to invite the public to attend the Domestic Violence Awareness Panel on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 6:00pm.
“The event will be streamed live on CITV and the Government of Bermuda Facebook and will address key issues around domestic violence. This event also helps to launch Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in February.”
Minister Furbert stated, “We have panelists who will share their expertise as we bring awareness to the critical issue of domestic violence. We must bring this community issue center stage, and I look forward to welcoming a much-needed discussion on what domestic violence looks like in Bermuda today, and how we look to tackle this problem. I encourage everyone to tune in on Monday evening and join in the discussion. Questions and comments may be emailed ahead of time at askus@gov.bm.”
The discussion will cover key topics such as:
- Warning Signs- What does domestic abuse look like?
- Domestic Violence and its impact on all genders
- Incidents/Impact
- Trauma
- Criminal Offences
The Panel will comprise:
