PPC Calls For 2022 Scholarship Applications

The Pembroke Parish Council [PPC] noted that their 2021 winners, Zyjae Trott-Philip and Daque Davis, as “examples of reliance and perseverance” as it opened its call for applications for its 2022 scholarships and grants.

A spokesperson said, “The Pembroke Parish Council is encouraging Pembroke residents to apply for its annual scholarship and grants, despite the challenges of the pandemic to the education landscape. The Council touted its 2021 winners, Zyjae Trott-Philip and Daque Davis, as examples of reliance and perseverance.

“Both are enrolled at Bermuda College in the Division of Arts & Science; Ms. Trott-Philip in the Associate of Science [Nursing] programme, recipient of the full scholarship of $6,000, and Ms. Davis, in the Associate of Science programme, and recipient of one of several $,500 grants. Ms. Davis is expecting to graduate within a year, and said her experience has been great.”

Ms. Davis said, “I’m learning a lot, even though some courses are being held remotely.”

PPC Chair, Patricka Ferguson, said, “We are always delighted to continue to invest in our community and to provide resources to assist in sending some of our finest and most hard-working students to further their education at Bermuda College.

“Although we are in a pandemic, this should not stop one’s dreams of fulfilling higher education goals. Shortly, the search for other deserving students will commence, and we hope that others will take advantage of these amazing opportunities, and apply before the deadline at the end of March.”
