Video: Territories Talk On Decolonization
Ryan Robinson Perinchief was recently invited alongside Dr. Tennyson Joseph and Dr. Carlyle Corbin to discuss the subject of “Decolonization and the United Nations Declarations” as part of ‘Territories Talk,’ which is broadcast online, with one of the hosts being MP Chris Famous.
Dr. Tennyson hails from St. Lucia and is a professor and expert at the University of the West Indies, while Dr. Corbin is from the Virgin Islands and has served as a United Nations expert on self-determination for over a decade.
The wide ranging two hour conversation spanned a number of topics including:
- The recent elections held in Barbados,
- The definition of Decolonization and the United Nations List of Non-Self Governing territories
- The 1960 UN Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples
- Issues facing overseas territories across the Caribbean
- CARICOM and Caribbean regional unity
Famous will become Prime Minister.

I support independence but as long as Bermuda is $3.5 billion in debt (and growing), we will NEVER go independent. We have zero standing on the world stage. The bank is richer than the Bermuda Govt. Oh please.
