22 Goals Scored In FA Challenge Cup Games

Three FA Challenge Cup matches recently took place, with a total of 22 goals scored.

One game needed extra time, another game saw multiple players sent off and three goals scored in stoppage time, and another game saw all the goals come in the second half of play.

PHC Zebras 6 – X-Roads 2

At the PHC Stadium, the PHC Zebras shook off a rough first half to come from behind to defeat X-Roads 6 – 2.

X-Roads took the lead in the fourth minute through an own goal and that score stood until the break.

Antwan Russell, a half-time substitute, only needed three minutes in the second half to level the score at 1 – 1. Enrique Russell then gave the PHC Zebras the lead in the 55th minute. Four minutes later, X-Roads drew level when Donavan Thompson scored to make it 2 – 2, but Na’eem Griffith put the PHC Zebras back in front in the 63rd minute.

Things heated up in the 75th minute when multiple players received their marching orders for a scuffle after a foul, and the PHC Zebras then scored three times in stoppage time to earn the win. They got two goals from Enrique Russell, with Tre Ming adding the other.

Wolves 4 – Somerset Eagles 6 – After Extra Time

At the Wellington Oval, the Somerset Eagles needed extra time to defeat Wolves 6 – 4.

Ethan Fubler gave the Somerset Eagles the lead in the 23rd minute. London Steede equalized for Wolves in the 26th minutes, with Sergio Richardson putting Wolves ahead in the 38th minute as they took the 2 – 1 lead to the break.

Shakir Smith made it 2 – 2 in the 48th minute before Marcus Ming put Wolves back in front in the 50th minute. Shentoine Lambert pulled the Somerset Eagles level yet again in the 57th minute. Smith scored his second of the game in the 62nd minute to put the Somerset Eagles ahead 4 – 3, but Steede got his second of the game in the 66th minute to level the score at 4 – 4.

Neither team found the back of the net again in regulation, sending the match into extra time. In the first period of extra time, Smith completed his hat trick, giving the Somerset Eagles the lead, and on the stroke of full-time, Fubler scored his second goal of the game to earn the Somerset Eagles a spot in the next round.

St. George’s Colts 0 – North Village Rams 4

After a scoreless half at the Wellington Oval, the North Village Rams defeated the St. George’s Colts 4 – 0.

Rai Simons scored in the 60th minute to give the North Village Rams the lead. Simons doubled the lead in the 70th minute. Justin Bell converted from the spot to make it 3 – 0 to the North Village Rams in the 81st minute, and then five minutes later Bell scored again to complete the scoring.
