Results: Premier & First Division Football
Footballers in both the Premier Division and First Division were in action this weekend, with Southampton Rangers, Devonshire Cougars, Young Men Social Club, and Boulevard Blazers all earning wins.
Premier Division
Southampton Rangers 3 – Devonshire Colts 1
At the Southampton Oval, the Southampton Rangers moved up from 10th to ninth with this 3 – 1 win over the Devonshire Colts.
The Devonshire Colts took the lead in the 11th minute when Brandon O’Connor finished a good individual run, but in the 34th minute, Southampton Rangers drew level when Marco Basden scored as the teams went to the break level at 1 – 1.
Kieshon Wilson gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 51st minute, and then in the 76th minute, Jahkhari Hollis made it 3 – 1 to the Southampton Rangers.
Somerset Trojans 0 – Devonshire Cougars 3
The Devonshire Cougars moved within one point of second place PHC Zebras following their 3 – 0 win over the Somerset Trojans at the Somerset Cricket Club.
The Devonshire Cougars took the lead in the 27th minute through a Drewonde Bascome goal. Domico Coddington doubled the lead in the 39th minute, and they went to the break with that two goal lead.
The Devonshire Cougars got their third goal from Zari Simmons in the 56th minute.
First Division
St. David’s 1 – Young Men Social Club 3
The Young Men Social Club traveled to Lords in St. David’s and defeated St. David’s 3 – 1 to remain in fourth place on goal difference.
After a scoreless first half, Jomeko Mallory gave young Men Social Club the lead. Ryan Parris doubled the Young men Social Club lead when he scored in the 55th minute. Iyuan Smith pulled St. David’s within one when he scored in the 61st minute, but in stoppage time Shakii Pearman restored the Young Men Social Club’s two goal lead making it 3 – 1.
Paget Lions 0 – Boulevard Blazers 8
At the Southampton Oval, the Boulevard Blazers leapfrogged BAA into second place following their 8 – 0 win over the Paget Lions.
Ian Coke led the charge with a hat trick, while Takeyhi Walker Samuels, Taiquan Davis, Zaire Burchall, Sergio Woolridge, and Jerome Bailey all added a goal each.
