Landline Subscribers Declined Again By 6%

The number of landline telephone subscribers declined by 6% year-over-year in 2020, which is a continuation of an annual decline that started around 20 years ago.

This is according to the recently released Bermuda Digest of Statistics, which said, “The number of landline telephone subscribers declined by 6% year-over-year, a continuation of an annual decline commencing in 2003/04.

“Furthermore, there was just over half the number of landline telephone subscribers in 2020/21 as there was in 2011/12. Commercial telephone subscribers comprised 40% of the total and the residual were residential telephone subscribers.”
