    FREE SHOPPING TRIP!

Is there anyone attending RIMS that does not already know about Bermuda? How much revenue was generated from previous conferences? How much is this trip costing taxpayers?

    - Premier Burt
    - Minister of Economy and Labour, Jason P Hayward
    - representatives of the Bermuda Business Development Agency, Bermuda Monetary Authority [BMA], Bermuda Business Development Agency [BDA]

    Over $150,000 at least.

Stay tuned for the bill for first class tickets BDA-SFO, $1000+ a night hotel bills and let’s not forget the ground transportation which must be on a 24/7 limousine contract given recent charges for ministers’ transport. What can Burt and Hayward add to this conference? Hopelessly out of their depth, both of them.

Hayward at a RIMS conference? Give me strength.

  6. just a thought says:

This is very bizarre. Bermuda is sending five representatives to RIMS (Premier Burt, Bermuda Business Development Agency, Bermuda Monetary Authority, Association of Bermuda Insurers and Reinsurers (ABIR), Bermuda Business Development Agency)? I don’t believe even the largest insurers send that many delegates to RIMS.

    business class airfare x 5 persons – $20,000

    hotel rooms – 4 delegates x $600/night x 4 nights and incidentals – $15,000

hotel suite and incidentals fit for a Premier of 65,000 people (there are more than 700 towns and cities in the US with a population over 50,000) – 4 nights x $1500/night, plus incidentals – $25,000

We should see a bill for roughly $60,000. I’ll bet they spend twice that.
