Reports: US To End Covid-19 Test Requirement
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will lift its requirement for travelers to test negative for Covid-19 before entering the United States, according to multiple reports from the U.S. media.
A CNN story said, “The Biden administration is expected to announce Friday that the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will lift its requirement for travelers to test negative for Covid-19 before entering the US, according to a senior administration official.
“The move, which CNN was first to report, will go into effect for US-bound air travelers at midnight on Sunday.
“The CDC is lifting the restriction that the travel industry had lobbied against for months after determining it was no longer necessary “based on the science and data,” the official said. The CDC will reassess its decision in 90 days and if officials decide they need to reinstate it, because of a concerning new variant, for example, will do so. The measure has been in place since January 2021.”
The NY Times reported, “In a move hailed by the travel industry, starting Sunday morning passengers will be able to board flights to the U.S. without a negative coronavirus test.
“International travelers to the United States faced the uncertainty of testing positive before their trips began. International travelers to the United States will still be required to be fully vaccinated.”
Bloomberg reported, “The Biden administration is lifting its requirement that all travelers test negative for coronavirus before flying to the US, amid pressure from airlines that viewed the measure as excessive and blamed it for depressing ticket purchases.
“The change will take effect just after midnight on June 12 and be reassessed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in 90 days, according to a senior administration official who requested anonymity to detail the plan before it was formally announced. ”

Can we now lose the absurd TA form?
No because we are broke, our Government is hopelessly on the verge of disaster. There is a veneer of normality, but we literally have no money, nothing.
100% true, I work there. They haven’t got a dime.
No, we cannot get rid of the TA. You heard him say the form stays in effect until April 2023. He and his buddies need the money. About time people took to the hill for a march. Ask the great reverend to help organize the march.
Look, no one is going to march on any hill any time soon because those people are not the ones that travel. The type that march are not affected by the TA one bit.
Pay them to march and maybe they will. But know this: the TA is a tax on those with the means to travel/vacation here. You know it and I know it.
Collect the tax then and do away with the bs form, the testing, the lines, the problems checking in when travelling home to Bermuda. End the charade. Stop pretending it’s for health reasons.
There putting that money with the sugar tax.
Well done voters. Or should I say hypocrites because we hear none of you expressing your opinions on this matter.
Unless your benefiting too
Amen to that… well said
