In the opener, the Boaz Island Beer Barons came from behind to defeat the Pembroke Pirates 11 – 5.
The Pembroke Pirates led 3 – 1 after the first period, with Mathieu Desjardins scoring a hat-trick, while Jermy Estey scored the lone goal for the Boaz Island Beer Barons in the period.
The Boaz Island Beer Barons would outscore the Pembroke Pirates 4 – 1 in the second period to take a 5 – 4 lead. The Boaz Island Beer Barons would get single strikes from Estey, Tyson Barnett, James Amaral, and Matt Mcphail in the period, with Desjardins adding his fourth goal of the game for the Pembroke Pirates.

The Hamilton Hurricanes jumped out to a 6 – 1 lead in the first period, with Matt Benson scoring a hat-trick, Pete Brodsky scoring twice and Derek Winch adding the other, while Ryan Wilson scored the lone goal of the period for the Paget Pistols.
Neither team scored in the second period before both scored two goals each in the third and final period.
