Bermudian Sisters In Food Competition In UK

September 26, 2022

Three Bermudian sisters who specialise in vegan cuisine are hoping to win a food competition in Britain.

Jameelah Brinson, Karima Gardner and Ahyaana Tiana Young run a catering business called Soul Vegan UK and are among three finalists in the Boxpark Croydon Food Business Competition.

The sisters, who live in London, ran a week-long pop-up restaurant at Boxpark Croydon along with the other two finalists earlier this month.

The winner will be chosen based on customer feedback and will run a three month pop-up kitchen at the food and retail park in South London.

Born and raised in Bermuda, the three sisters are inspired by Caribbean cuisine and vegans from birth. Their long-term vision is to sell their food in stores and open a restaurant in London.

They describe their food as a “celebration of the African Hebrew Israelite culture” in which they were raised.

For more information, follow the trio’s business on Instagram.

I think they are going to win. Best wishes. Great to get an address so we can drop in and congratulate them and sample the food. They have good roots.

This is such an inspiring story of these Bermudian sisters making their mark in the UK food scene! It’s great to see women of color breaking down barriers and pursuing their passions. I love that they’re incorporating Bermudian flavors into their dishes and sharing a piece of their culture with others. Wishing them all the best in the competition!
