2022 Round the Sound Swimming Results
American Alex Meyer – a former competition swimmer who specialized in open water and long-distance swimming – swam to victory in the 2022 Round the Sound 10k race.
Meyer, who won a gold medal at the 2010 FINA World Open Water Swimming Championships in the 25 kilometer open water event, clocked a winning time of 2:10:47. Nina Coetzer finished fourth overall, clocking a time of 2:24:39 to claim the female title at the distance. Bermuda Olympian Julian Fletcher was eighth overall at the distance, clocking a time of 2:40:02.
Jonathon Packard won the 6k distance race with a time of 1:23:21, Kirsten Pursell finished as the first female and eighth overall at the distance with a time of 1:37:54, and Bermuda Olympian Kiera Aitken was the second female finisher and ninth overall after clocking 1:41:34.
In the 4k distance, Samuel Wollner clocked a winning time of 1:01:47, while Annie Engstrom was the first female finisher and second overall after clocking a time of 1:05:42
The 2k distance was won by Mark Knepley, who was clocked at 27:10. Daria Desmond was second overall and the first female finisher, clocking 27:13.
Elanna Fulton won the 0.8k distance race by clocking a time of 11:50, while Jackson Langley was the first male to cross the line, placing third overall after clocking 12:09.
