Winter Netball League Opener This Saturday
The Bermuda Netball Association [BNA] will be celebrating 50 years of league netball this season and their celebrations start this Saturday [Oct 29] with the league opener.
A spokesperson said, “We invite you to come out to the Bernard Park Netball Courts this Saturday 1pm-6pm. The courts will have all the junior and senior teams present for the opening ceremony and welcome address.
“Immediately after, the respective opening tournaments will commence with the Harold ‘Doc’ Dowling Tournament [Juniors] and the Sylvia Eastley Tournament [Seniors]. All divisions will be on display in action packed tournaments that feature one interval of 10 minutes per match which requires teams to be ready from the first whistle.
“While this will be a fun challenge for all divisions, we must inform you that our 11&U age group is developmental and as such starting this season none of their match scores or division standings will be published. This is to further solidify that it is developmental and increases the focus on enjoyment and learning netball skills.
