Jahkari Woods Earns PSEA Excellence Award
Jahkari Woods from the Department of Health has earned the Public Service Excellence Award [PSEA] for October.
A spokesperson said, “Last Friday, Premier David Burt and the Head of the Public Service, Dr. Derrick Binns recognized Mr. Jahkari Woods from the Department of Health as October’s recipient of the Public Service Excellence Award [PSEA].
“Mr. Woods is a Community Health Worker and has been recognized for demonstrating exemplary professionalism and efficiency in his role.
“Mr. Woods’ colleagues have touted him for being organized, reliable, and ‘always one step ahead’ when ordering essential medical supplies for the nurses and department staff. He’s praised for his responsiveness, teamwork, and innovation; and for playing a significant role in assisting the department in its move from the Hamilton Health Centre to its temporary Reid Street location. Additionally, he recently sacrificed one of his days off to be available at the Hurricane Shelter after already staying overnight to assist with its set-up on short notice. Overall, Jahkari is solution driven and this kind of work ethic is extremely important to foster a good working culture.”
Premier Burt said, “It is heartwarming to see a young Bermudian with such a high level of professional integrity and respect for his colleagues. Health care is challenging and demanding at any time, not merely amid a pandemic. I salute you, Mr. Woods, for your meticulous work ethic and stellar service, not only to your teammates but to the public of Bermuda.”
Dr. Derrick Binns added, “Congratulations Mr. Woods! With great pleasure, we present you this award in recognition of your steadfast commitment to Public Service Excellence. Keep up the great work, and I personally look forward to seeing your continued growth and success!”
The spokesperson said, “The PSEA is a programme that recognizes Public Officers who are demonstrating admirable service delivery. Each month an individual or team is selected for their significant accomplishments in the last 60 days.”
