National Bowling Team Heads To World Cup
Bermuda’s National Men’s Bowling team head out of the island this weekend to compete in the International Federation Bowling World Cup taking place in the Sunshine Coast Queensland, Australia from November 12th – 23rd, 2022.
The biennial event will be the first time Team Bermuda has qualified for this prestigious event.
Team Bermuda will be up against the best bowlers from around the world which will determine who wins the prestigious World Cup titles in Teams and Singles.
Each player will compete in Singles and the prestigious Team event in round one, where they will earn points for their respective country to determine which teams qualify for the round of 32.
Each country will then play head-to-head matches against one another using the baker format which will then determine the countries that qualify for the round of 16, quarterfinals, semi-finals, and finals.
The team of; Lamar Richardson, Damien Matthews, David Maycock, Dennis Joell, Steven Riley and US Coach Fero Williams will be competing against the world’s elite to determine the World Champions.
The team has been busy training the last few months adjusting to the new baker format which they feel increases their chances of advancing into the later stages of the competition.
