BUEI To Feature Seahorses At Kids Hour Event
The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] will host Kids Hour this Saturday [April 18] at 11.00am and 2.00pm, highlighting the “fascinating world of seahorses.”
A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute [BUEI] invites families to dive into discovery with Kids Hour Saturdays, a playful and educational monthly programme created especially for young ocean explorers. This month’s Kids Hour, taking place on Saturday, April 18 at 11am and 2pm will shine a spotlight on the fascinating world of seahorses!
“Held on the third Saturday of each month from January through September, Kids Hour features a delightful mix of storytime, short film screenings, and hands-on activities themed around a different sea creature.
“This month, young participants will splash into the enchanting world of seahorses through the book reading of The Great Mr. Seahorse written and illustrated by Eric Carle. The tale follows Mr. Seahorse as he meets other animals in his ecosystem. Along his journey, he discovers that everyone has unique strengths and that life is richer when we celebrate our differences.
“Kids will also be able to enjoy a Short Film Screening of Seahorse – Facts for Kids. This engaging mini-documentary introduces children to the many types of seahorses, offering a close-up look at baby seahorses hatching and swimming on their own.
“Admission is free for BUEI members and $5 per child for non-members. Adults accompanying participating children attend free of charge. Each Kids Hour includes BUEI’s popular I Spy Challenge, plus complimentary access to BUEI’s Ocean Discovery Centre, where families can continue exploring the wonders of the ocean together.
