Raleigh Alumni To Compete In ‘Trek Race’
Some of the Raleigh Bermuda Alumni will be competing in their “2nd Annual Alumni Trek Race” as a fundraiser for the charity.
A spokesperson said, Raleigh Bermuda is known for its adventurous survival training camps and overseas expeditions. Young Bermudians who join Raleigh’s Venturers’ Programme are locally trained in an intensive Survival Skills-Based Programme and then are given the opportunity to go overseas and be challenged to climb mountains, trek jungles, rivers and completed international environment and community projects.
“On November 20, the event will see 12 Raleigh Athletes competing in three different trek routes starting in Dockyard and then making way through the different trek levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced to reach Raleigh headquarters in Pembroke.
“Raleigh Athletes will trek up to 24 kilometers with a rucksack. The event will conclude at Raleigh with the arrival of the Advanced Trekkers and all participants in the race. The Raleigh Winner’s celebration will be a private event, but Raleigh is asking all Community Members to cheer and support our Athletes from the streets and from the front lawns of their home! Raleigh Athletes will be accepting pledges and donations from the community for this fundraiser.
“Our 2022 Raleigh Athletes are: James Lee [2021 Ultimate Survivor Winner], A’Jahni Smith, Eric Wallace Jr., Torrell Stuart, Christianna Warren, Antahsukha Akshayasukha, Keri Pacheco, Dennika Wright, Audrey Dean, Nicole Warren, Matthias Lawrence and Kimura Cole.
“To donate or pledge a racer, please donate through online banking at HSBC, Account: 010120756001, Reference [athlete’s name], or on PTIX here. The event is being sponsored and supported by International Sports Shop, Butterfield & Vallis and One Communications. For more information, please contact info@raleigh.bm or call 333.5678.”
