“The Award recognises outstanding personal achievement and is earned by Scouts aged 16 to 25. To achieve it, young people complete a series of ambitious challenges, including volunteering in their community, undertaking an expedition in wild country, and taking part in a five-day residential experience in a new environment. They also develop an existing talent or learn new skills that build on what they’ve gained through Scouting. Along the way, they deliver projects that make a remarkable impact and leave a lasting legacy within their local communities.

“Joining scouts at the age of eight, Conor progressed through the 19th Cub Scouts, 1st Bermuda Explorers, and ultimately completed his journey as a Network Scout. Conor has represented Bermuda numerous times. In 2015 he was one of six scouts selected to attend the 23rd World Scout Jamboree in Yamaguchi, Japan.

“After forming strong bonds with the Welsh scouting contingent during his time in Japan, Conor was invited to join the Welsh Explorer Unit K2 in Budapest, Hungary. In 2019, he attended his second World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA as a member of the International Service Team.

“Conor has been recognised for his commitment to the Scouts with numerous awards, including the Chief’s Scout’s Platinum and Diamond Awards. He also received his Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award through an expedition in the Bahamas.”
