School Choirs Singing Carols At Airport
Skyport is hosting special events for the holiday season with a series of lunchtime appearances by the island’s school choirs caroling against a backdrop of festive holiday décor.
A spokesperson said, “Skyport marked the anniversary of its second year of opening and the end of the island’s Covid restrictions with the launch of a community partnership for the holiday season. The community initiative includes a series of lunchtime appearances by the island’s school choirs caroling against a backdrop of festive holiday décor supported by travelers and airport employees alike.
“The Christmas carolers made their first appearance in the departure lounge on December 1 with performances by CedarBridge Academy, Dalton E Tucker Middle School, Saltus, Clearwater Middle School, BHS Tiny Trebels, West End Primary, and with performances still to come from Bermuda Institute, BHS Glee club, Warwick Academy, Mount Saint Agnes, Paget Primary, Harrington Sound Primary, Somersfield Academy and Purvis Primary.”
Nikki Fagan, Head of Brand Development & Communications, at Skyport said, “The LF Wade Airport is the primary gateway between our community and the rest of the world. And while it is easy to focus simply on our international links, nurturing our community connections is a vital part of our organizational mandate. Our community has responded positively to our invitations to infuse the departure experience with a little local holiday flavor.
“The school choirs are a heart-warming way to invite the spirit and joy of the Christmas season to the L.F. Wade International Airport, after almost three years of limited gatherings within the terminal due to Covid. Our visitors and residents have been surprised and delighted with the first performances as they showcase the talent of Bermuda’s most precious resource, our young people.”
The spokesperson said, “Our concessionaires have also enthusiastically joined in with activities, World Cup football is being shown at the Whistling Rum Bar & Grill daily where you can enjoy the game while having lunch.
