OpenMat Members Win Medals In Toronto
Bermuda was represented at the Grappling Industries Toronto Gi & No Gi Round Robin Tournament, with members of the OpenMat Bermuda Academy finishing with one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals.
A spokesperson said, “Gaia Angeli won the Gi Kids / White / 12 – 13 years [Female] / -125 lbs Division gold medal.
“The Gi Kids / Yellow/Orange / 10 – 11 years / -75 lbs Division silver medal was won by Thea Dyer.
“Ezra Dyer won the bronze medal in the No Gi Kids / Advanced [Yellow/Orange] / 12 – 13 years [Male] / -105 lbs Division.
“Keegan Dyer won the Gi Kids / Yellow/Orange / 14 – 15 years [Female] / -95 lbs Division silver medal.
“Ashley Dyer won the silver medal competing in the Gi Adult / Female / White / Adult / -155 lbs Division, and also the bronze medal competing in the No Gi Adult / Female / White / Adult / -155 lbs Division.
“Greg Maybury finished 26th competing in the Gi Adult / Male / White / Adult / -170 lbs Division. Maybury also finished 8th competing in the No Gi Adult / Male / White / Adult / -170 lbs Division, Maybury closed out with a 5th place finish in the Absolute No Gi / Male / Adult Division.”
