Road Traffic Notice: Point Finger/South Shore

The Ministry of Public Works is informing motorists that the Corporation of Hamilton will be required to carry out a Sewer Main Inspection on Point Finger Road and South Shore Road Intersection.

A Government spokesperson said, “There will be partial road closure Sunday, February 12th, 2023 to allow trenching work to occur. This partial road closure will allow local access to residents and to those going to the Hospital and Doctor’s offices.

“Motorists are asked to avoid Point Finger Road, if possible, by using alternative routes via Berry Hill Road, Trimingham Hill or Tee Street, but there will be persons near the closed lane to assist with access.

“Traffic controls will be under the direction of Invisible Trench who will manage through signals persons and directional signs during rush hours.

“If accessing Point Finger Road, motorists are advised to drive cautiously through the construction area and to avoid speeding to protect themselves and construction workers on site.

“The Ministry of Public Works wishes to encourage the full cooperation of the public and apologizes for any inconvenience that may result.
