Govt Warns Of Fake Social Media Accounts
The Cabinet Office is advising “the public to be wary of fake social media accounts circulating online using the Premier’s image.”
A spokesperson said, “The fake accounts are being featured on Facebook and Instagram, and promote an investment opportunity, which seeks to defraud money from visitors to the site.
“The Bermuda Police Service has been notified. The Premier’s social media accounts are verified accounts. Anything other than these official platforms are fake.
“Individuals are encouraged to remain vigilant while online. Do not click the links provided. Persons should report the accounts to the platforms’ social media administrators if they encounter them.”
These fake social media accounts have been an ongoing problem for years, with multiple accounts purporting to be local politicians created.

Yes, but if the fake social media accounts are only using the Premier’s image, not his office title, this is a personal matter and Government resources should not be used for the Premier’s personal benefit.
