Three People Injured In Collision In Pembroke
Three people — a male motorcyclist and two females on a motorcycle — were transported to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle traffic collision which happened on Friday evening in Pembroke.
A police spokesperson said, “Three people were transported to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle serious road traffic collision which happened shortly after 7:00p.m. on Friday, March 10th, 2023.
“The incident which occurred along St Johns Road at its junction with Berkeley Road, involved a motorcar and two motorcycles.
“The motorcar driven by a 67-year-old male, had stopped at the stop sign at the junction of Berkeley Road and St John Road, when a motorcycle ridden by a 36-year-old male, traveling in an easterly direction along St Johns Road overtook another vehicle.
“Another motorcycle ridden by a 22-year-old female and her 18-year-old female pillion passenger, traveling in a westerly direction approaching the said junction, initiated a right turn to turn onto Berkeley Road and subsequently entered into the path of the 36 year old male, which resulted in a collision.
“The male motorcyclist who was reported to be unresponsive at one point, suffered a possible fracture to right arm and collar bone. The female motorcyclist suffered injuries to her right wrist and both knees, while her pillion passenger sustained a suspected broken left leg.
“The injured parties were subsequently transported to hospital by ambulance, for further treatment of their injuries, none of which were considered life threatening. The driver of the car was not reported to have been injured.
“Traffic diversions were put in place while the scene was being processed by a Traffic Collision Investigator and an officer from the Forensic Support Unit. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the non-emergency reporting number 211 or, the main police number, 295-0011.
