Amber Neben, of the United States, won the race in 35:10.63, with Chilean Aranza Villalon coming second in 36:35.48 and Alison Jackson, of Canada, placing third in 37:22.05.

The Continental Championships is a qualifier for the Olympics, where 88 places are available for the men’s and women’s road races, and allocations are based on the UCI Road World Rankings by countries for the year before the event.

Conyers continues her Olympic bid at the Pan American Road and Track Championships in Panama on Saturday [April 22].

Also competing will be her Bermudian team-mate, Gabriella Arnold.

Two spots will be available at the Championships for nations not yet qualified for the Olympics through UCI world ranking points.
