BBA: Cyclists Will Race In Rain, Sun Or Shine
The Bermuda Bicycle Association confirmed that the Sinclair Packwood Memorial race on Bermuda Day will go ahead even if it rains heavily.
As the island has been experiencing rainy weather and the cyclists race at fast speeds, we checked with the Association if, by chance, it is raining at race time if that would affect the plans, and a spokesperson said, “we plan on racing in rainy weather. Individuals may choose to avoid the wet conditions but riding in the rain is not unusual for us.”
As it stands now, the BWS forecast for Bermuda Day states, “Sunny breaks, a few periods of showers, easing later. Winds southerly light to moderate, increasing moderate by afternoon and occasionally increasing moderate to strong later.”
