Horizon Customers Can Transfer To One Comm

A sale of Horizon Communications “as a going concern has not been achieved,” they will continue providing internet until June 26th “at which time the Horizon network will be decommissioned,” and customers will be provided with the opportunity to migrate to the One Communications platform over the next 28 days.

A spokesperson said, “Michael Morrison and Charles Thresh of Teneo [Bermuda] Limited were appointed as Joint Receivers [JRs] of Horizon Communications Ltd. [Horizon], on 5 January 2023, under a debenture held by a lender of Horizon, which is an affiliate of a Bermuda investment fund. Horizon provides high speed internet to business and residential customers throughout Bermuda.”

Charles Thresh, Head of Teneo’s Financial Advisory business in Bermuda and one of the JRs, said: “After the Company was placed into receivership in January of this year, the Company remained committed to providing customers with continuous internet service and support, whilst a buyer was sought for the Company’s business.

“Regrettably, a sale of the business as a going concern has not been achieved. However, the JRs are pleased to announce that under an agreement reached with One Communications Ltd. [One], a leading full-service telecommunications provider, whereby residential and corporate customers will be provided with the opportunity to migrate to the One platform over the next 28 days.

“This agreement has been reached to facilitate continuity of service for customers. Horizon will continue providing internet services to its customers until 26 June 2023 at which time the Horizon network will be decommissioned.

“To facilitate this agreement, One will be contacting customers via email and phone to provide additional details and ensure a seamless transition. We thank the Company’s customers for their loyalty and patience during this time and wish them and One all the best for their ongoing relationship.”
