Onion Day To Be Held At Carter House
St. David’s Historical Society will be celebrating Onion Day at Carter House this Saturday [June 17] from 12.00pm to 3.00pm.
The event poster says, “Gary’s fish chowder – food fit for the gods – drinks, and sitting off St David’s style.
“Lindy Thatcher will entertain with her ukulele, performing ‘Onions, Onions Ho Ho Ho.’ Onion eating contest if any volunteers. Doll making and palmetto weaving demo [fun for all to do].
“Hotdogs and upon request caramelized onions and on the side onion slaw. Bring the kids; plenty of cookies and kids’ drinks. Learn about crafts. Treasure hunt. Raffle for the parents, with some unique one-of-a-kind prizes.
“No entrance fee, but donations are appreciated. Bring cash, no credit cards.”
