DaRock Elite Academy Enjoying ‘Dreamlike’ Tour
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Danté Leverock has described the DaRock Elite Academy’s tour to Scotland as “dreamlike” after training at the home of Scottish giants Rangers and testing themselves against local opposition.
Leverock has taken a group of under-15 players from his academy to Scotland for ten days, playing matches and training at top-class facilities such as the Rangers Training Centre in East Dunbartonshire.
They won their opening match 6-3 against the Elite Centre Toryglen before beating a Stirling Albion youth team 2-1 last night. They have another game scheduled against a Dundee United youth team.
The group also attended Rangers’ pre-season friendly against German side Hamburger SV at Ibrox Stadium on Saturday [July 22], taking part in a small-sided game on the pitch at half-time.
“Our tour to Rangers has been nothing short of dreamlike,” Leverock wrote on Facebook.
“Beyond training, our boys had the privilege of touring the top-tier facilities and witnessing the Rangers first team play amidst the electrifying cheers of 50,000 fans.”
More than 50 boys and girls have joined the academy since it was launched by Leverock, a former Bermuda captain, at the start of the year.
Well done boys, you were undefeated! Just to add to the story above they won last nights game against Dundee United 6-2 ????
That is correct!
Huge congratulations to all of you.
