Seaside Discussion & Networking Breakfast Held
The 100 Women of Finance in Bermuda successfully hosted a Seaside Discussion & Networking Breakfast last week, which was an empowering event highlighting women’s achievements in the finance sector.
A spokesperson said, “Attendees had the privilege of gaining invaluable insights and experiences from esteemed finance professional, Sinead Donovan.
“The exclusive event, which took place at Exchange House, Bermuda Stock Exchange, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, was a collaboration between the Bermuda Stock Exchange and Grant Thornton, event sponsor for the networking breakfast.
“Sinead Donovan, Partner & Chairperson at Grant Thornton Ireland and President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland, took centre stage, sharing her inspiring journey throughout her career in the finance industry. As the first female partner at Grant Thornton, Sinead blazed a trail, passionately advocating for the development of the accountancy profession and its members.
“Throughout her career, Sinead encountered a myriad of opportunities and challenges that significantly shaped her journey and contributed to her personal growth. Her insights into the global context of multinational companies shed light on the importance of central reporting on multiple jurisdictions, making her experiences an invaluable asset to the finance industry.
“Furthermore, Sinead’s observations provided a unique perspective on how professional experiences can differ depending on the norms and values of the countries one works in, leaving a lasting impact on the way professionals approach their work and foster positive change.
“A strong believer in the importance of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity, Sinead has worked to ensure a motivated, effective and thriving workplace. She is an advocate for mental wellbeing initiatives and a former chairperson of CA SUPPORT, which is the body, tasked with providing support to all Chartered members and students in Ireland.”
