Bermuda Sandcastle Competition Postponed

[Updated] The Bermuda Sandcastle Competition — which was originally scheduled to be held this Saturday [Sept 2] –  has been postponed due to weather.

The Bermuda Sandcastle Competition posted the graphic online below, saying, “The weather on Saturday still looks very unsettled with lots of rain. Stuck between two hurricanes I really can’t argue with Mother Nature on this one. We are aiming to reschedule for Saturday, September the 9th. A week later and potentially clear of storms so far according to weather predictions. Please keep your fingers and toes crossed for better weather next week!”

Update Sept 1, 10.05am: A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Sandcastle Competition has been rescheduled for Saturday the 9th of September.

“It is with a heavy heart that the organizers have decided to postpone the Bermuda Sandcastle Competition. The weather this Saturday still looks very unsettled with lots of rain. Stuck between two storms I don’t think any of our teams wants to spend the day battling under tents in high winds and rain and rough seas no matter how much we love to build sandcastles.

“So far the weather next week is potentially clear of storms according to weather predictions. Fingers crossed and prayers welcome here too. The weather this year has just be so all over the place it’s hard to know.

“We will be offering the Wednesday and Thursday workshop again next week as this weeks workshops are canceled.

“That’s Weds 6th & Thursday 7th at Horseshoe bay at 5:30pm.

“Please email hello@sandcastle.bm to reserve your space in the workshop. I only have room for 10 groups and spots fill up fast.
