St George’s Seafood Festival On September 17

The St. George’s Seafood Festival will be held on September 17th with an “expanded lineup of local vendors, enhanced entertainment, and activities for visitors of all ages.”

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA], in partnership with The Corporation of St. George’s, today announced that the St. George’s Seafood Festival will return for its highly anticipated second annual event. Building on the success of its inaugural year, the festival promises an even greater celebration of Bermuda’s vibrant seafood culture, captivating entertainment, and family-friendly activities.

“Following the resounding success of the inaugural year, this year’s St. George’s Seafood Festival is all set to be bigger and better, with an expanded lineup of local vendors, enhanced entertainment, and activities for visitors of all ages. The historic Ordnance Island and the adjacent King Square will be transformed into a lively pedestrianised venue, creating an inviting atmosphere for locals and tourists.”

Candy-Lee Foggo, Town Manager/Secretary, Corporation of St. George’s, shared her excitement: “The St. George’s Seafood Festival is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our town’s unique charm and history. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors to enjoy a day of delectable seafood, engaging entertainment, and overall fun.”

The spokesperson said, “New vendors such as Smuck’s, Crab n Go and EatClean Bermuda will be on sight to offer patrons a variety of seafood options. While savouring the culinary delights, attendees will be treated to a showcase of Bermudian performers, providing an engaging and immersive cultural experience.”

In the words of a participating vendor, St. David’s Seafood, “After last year, we are eager to be part of the St. George’s Seafood Festival again. The opportunity to share our passion for cuisine with the community and visitors is always welcomed. This event brings everyone together to celebrate Bermuda’s unique seafood offerings, which is amazing to be a part of.”

    Will be interested to see what’s on offer. I’d love to see fresh fish – ceviche, or things we don’t always find on the menu. Too often Bermuda seafood is just fried and imported.
