[Written by Stephen Wright]
Bermudian comedian Shuntae Todd has described her stand-up debut in the White Yardie Returns show as the experience of a lifetime.
Todd performed alongside the British-Jamaican comedian and local funnymen Jonathan Young, King Somner and Mr Fotogenik on Friday [September 8] at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium at CedarBridge Academy.
“It was amazing,” Todd told Bernews. “White Yardie was at the top watching the show and came down after my set to congratulate me.
“He said my debut couldn’t have gone any better. He gave me a bit of positive criticism, which I welcomed.
“But, all in all, I was extremely proud of myself. And even still, days later, people are congratulating me and giving me my flowers. I feel like a superhero!”
The 35-year-old’s popularity grew after posting funny videos on Instagram [@splashanddash_bubbles] and was invited to perform by the show’s organisers Epic Entertainment.
She has more than 2,800 followers on her business Instagram page.
The former Bermuda women’s national team footballer, also posted on Facebook: “I’m still processing what happened on Friday night. It was epic!
“I couldn’t have asked for a better debut.
“I swear it was my crowd! I’m still in awe at all the comments and support that I’ve received from everyone.”
