Swan “Elated” By Public Viewing Areas At Golf
This year’s Butterfield Bermuda Championship has two new public viewing spots on hole #3 and hole #15, and Bermuda Government Golf Course Chairman Kim Swan is ecstatic to have two public viewing areas – especially on the third hole – saying it ”warms my heart because it embraces the spirit of public golf that Port Royal Golf Course represents.”
Kim Swan – a 3-time Bermuda Open Champion and a former PGA European Tour player – said, ”I was elated when Tournament Director Mrs Danielle Carrera advised me that there was an appetite to add a public stand on the front nine at #3. ”
“But when I drove to Pompano Road and saw the structure, I was overwhelmed. Port Royal Golf Course is government-owned and operated and I owe my 52 years as a golfer to the all-embracing inclusive spirit that Port Royal embodies.”
