Divine Helps Bermudian Team Reach Podium

A part Bermudian-owned motorcycle racing team featuring two local riders ended their season on the podium in the recent final round of the Freetech Endurance Championship at the Circuito de Andalucia in Almería in Spain.
Team CSR #43’s line-up included Bermudians John Cook, the team co-owner, and teenage guest rider Aeziah Divine along with South African David Lindemann and Britain George Cooper, also a co-owner. They competed in the Moto4 class.
Their bike, a Suzuki GXSR 125, is dedicated to Cook’s father, Edward Cook Sr, and featured a design theme in memory of late local rider Marvin “Skinny” Robinson, who ran the same design during his years racing with the Bermuda Motorcycle Racing Association.
Other Bermudian guest riders who have turned out for the team this season are former professional rider Antoine Richards and Duanjai Lambe, who both competed in a 24-hour race in West Cumbria, England, in August.
Divine, who competes in the MIR Racing Finetwork Cup in Spain, competed in the Freetech Endurance Junior Talent Cup, finishing fourth in race three before joining up with his team-mates for the eight-hour endurance race the following day.
Split into stints of 30 minutes for each rider, Team CSR #43 qualified second out of 38 teams and made a superb start, with Cook among the frontrunners until he ran off the track and crashed.
Divine, 14, took over for his first ride and climbed the team from twelfth to fourth and took the lead during a later stint, with the team maintaining a podium finish for most of the race.
They finished third in the Moto4 class and third overall, leaving them second in the overall standings for the season.
Speaking on Divine’s performance, Cook said: “Everyone in the paddock was impressed with Aeziah’s riding and well-mannered attitude.
“It was another fantastic weekend of racing with family and friends!”
