Mini Bermuda Homes Placed On Roundabout
The Crow Lane roundabout in Paget has been transformed into a display of traditional Bermudian charm, featuring miniature Bermuda-style homes that were created by the Department of Works and Engineering’s carpentry shop.
“This collaborative effort embodies the spirit of unity within our Ministry,” remarked Minister of Public Works Lt. Col. David Burch about a Ministry initiative to spread Christmas cheer.
A Government spokesperson said, “The holiday season has come alive with a touch of traditional Bermudian charm at the Crow Lane roundabout in Paget, courtesy of the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works’ Departments collaborating to bring festive joy to the community.
“This initiative, spearheaded by the Department of Parks, showcases the essence of a Bermudian Christmas by installing wooden miniature homes adorning this roundabout.”
Minister Burch added: “Our teams’ combined talents and dedication have resulted in these beautiful displays that aim to spread joy and warmth during this special time of year.”
The Government spokesperson said, “The displays, crafted and painted by the skilled hands of the Department of Works and Engineering’s carpentry shop, reflect the Island’s unique architectural heritage.
“The brainchild of the talented craftspeople at Fort St. Catherine, the intricate design and construction of these miniature homes symbolise the unity and teamwork that define Bermuda’s cultural fabric.
“The Ministry extends its gratitude to all involved, acknowledging the hard work and commitment that went into bringing this vision to life.
“For more information and to catch a glimpse of these delightful installations, the public is encouraged to visit the Crow Lane roundabout throughout the holiday season.”

They did a lot of the planting work on Saturday. A 10-man crew at double time…
Burnt over $5k in that one day, one roundabout, not to mention the days prior and the little houses, etc.
Not to mention the excavation of the soil, trucking it away, “sifting” it, filling the bottom half with rubble and trucking back a top half of soil.
Sure do wonder what happened to the rest of the premium soil!!
What a use of OUR tax dollars. Do we really wonder why we are in such debt and a crumbling infrastructure?
All it needs now is a model of Godzilla in the middle of it….

I like a good nativity put Soozoosh right inthe middle a pagoda to represent the barn with open sides three kings Mother Mary and Joeseph all onlooking a light on Soozooshes head only dimmer lights around the parimiter…life size.
Celebrate Christmas with Nativity scene pagoda open sided , Jesus in a crib surounded by Mother Mary and Joseph , athe three kings annah donkey .put a light on Jesus andhave everyone facing to the center little Jesus could have a little halo light at night….It is not a good idea showing houses at Christmas to a bunch of homless people….do you?…It is not Bermuda house day it is Christmas , a house doesn’t say Christmas…like saying a rock means Bermuda…I guess you coul get one of those play pools and put a rock innit.
This is a holiday display? Couldn’t add some lights or poinsettias or something? Looks like an expensive half attempt to me. Shucks could have used those “Free LED light bulbs” lol, SOMETHING!
In other news shoutout to the government trying to be proactive when it comes to Russian emergency flights. Instead of idiotically reacting after the fact. Although Russia has been on the sanction list for QUITE SOME TIME NOW!!!! But hey….better late than never right? Just make sure your “border protection” department is informed in writing of the plan strategy. Dont leave it to the egotistical idiots in management there
