Bermuda To Compete In FEI World Challenge

The Bermuda Equestrian Federation announced that Bermuda will compete the annual FEI Jumping World Challenge.

A spokesperson said, “Bermuda show jumpers are gearing up to compete in the 2024 FEI Jumping World Challenge – the FEI 46th edition of this event.

“The Challenge provides local show jumping equestrians an opportunity to compete in an international setting without the logistical challenge and expense of travelling overseas. Rather, riders from 10 different geographical zones compete over the same jump courses designed by an FEI appointed course designer. This year’s course designer is FEI Level 3 Course Designer Kate Launder of South Africa.

“The Challenge comprise three separate competitions with competitors jumping two rounds in their respective height division. FEI Level 1 Judge Pam Mahoney of Bermuda will adjudicate competitions 1 & 2. Competition 3 will be judged jointly by FEI Level 2 Judge John Flisk of the USA and Judge Pam Mahoney.

“Once again Team and Individual classifications will be offered in the following heights.

Category

  • A 1.20 – 1.30m height
  • B 1.10 – 1.20m height
  • C 1.00 – 1.10m height

“Competing in Category A will be Jaylynn Hines riding her gelding, Toto D’ysenbeeck Z. Category B competitors include Vicki Steele riding In the Stars, McKeisha Smith riding Da Vinci and Tyler James riding Cruise Control. Competing in Category C will be Abby Bardgett riding Up, Up and Away, Michael Rodrigues riding Rambo, Courtney Bromby riding Worth the Wait, Alex McMartin riding Hornelli and Sierra Wolffe riding Farsi Forza.

“The three competitions will be held on the following dates:

  • Competition 1 Saturday, 3rd February 2024
  • Competition 2 Saturday, 24th February 2024
  • Competition 3 Saturday, 23rd March 2024

“All competitions will be held at the Bermuda National Equestrian Centre on Vesey Street, Devonshire. Horse inspection will take place at 9 a.m. with the first jumping class scheduled to commence at 10.00 a.m.”
