BKF Honors Talia Iris On Int’l Women’s Day
On International Women’s Day, the Bermuda Karate Federation [BKF] honored Talia Iris, noting that she is “Bermuda’s most decorated female karate athlete.”
A spokesperson said, “Today, on International Women’s Day, the Bermuda Karate Federation [BKF] proudly celebrates Talia Iris, Bermuda’s most decorated female karate athlete. With over 30 years of dedicated training and competition both in Bermuda and internationally, Talia Iris has made significant contributions to the karate community.
“Talia Iris currently serves as an esteemed instructor at the Bodhiarma Zenji Ryu Karate Dojo, where she imparts her expertise and passion for the martial art to aspiring karateka. Her commitment to excellence and her unwavering dedication to karate have earned her the respect and admiration of her peers and students alike.
“Last night, at the BKF’s 2023/2024 Annual General Meeting [AGM], Talia Iris achieved another milestone in her illustrious career. She was unanimously voted in as the Vice President of the Bermuda Karate Federation, becoming the first woman to hold this esteemed position. Her election to this role reflects not only her exceptional leadership qualities but also the recognition of her invaluable contributions to the karate community.
“In her remarks following her appointment, Talia Iris expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Vice President of the BKF.
