Two Vehicle Collision In Hamilton Parish

A two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and taxi occurred in Hamilton parish.

A police spokesperson said, “Shortly before 1:15 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2024, police and other first responders were dispatched to a two vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and an airport taxi, on Wilkinson Avenue near the northern entrance to the Crystal Caves property in Hamilton Parish

“Reports suggest the motorcycle rider, a 19-year-old male, was traveling south along Wilkinson Avenue, when he attempted to overtake a PTB bus.

“As he attempted the manoeuvre, he reportedly came into contact with the airport taxi which was traveling in the opposite direction.

“The motorcycle rider was ejected from the vehicle and landed on the roadway.

“He sustained a serious head injury and was in and out of consciousness at the scene. He also suffered a broken leg and facial injuries.

“He was attended to by EMTs before being transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check he continued to receive treatment for his injuries.

“The 33-year-old male taxi driver was not reported to be injured.

“The taxi was left with moderate damage, however, the motorcycle is a write-off.

“The roadway remained closed for approximately three and a half hours as traffic collision investigators processed the scene. We wish to thank the motoring public for their patience and co-operation during this exercise.
