Sincere Hall Scores In Hull City U21 Victory
Bermuda’s Sincere Hall scored for the Hull City Under-21 team as they played to a 6-1 victory over Burnley.
The club’s report said, “Hull City recorded back-to-back wins in emphatic fashion with a 6-1 thrashing of Burnley at the Dransfield Stadium.
“A hat-trick from Tyrell Sellars-Fleming and goals from Sincere Hall, Oliver Green and an unnamed trialist secured City the three points in the Professional Development League.
“The game burst into life within two minutes as Burnley failed to clear the ball inside their own penalty area. Falling kindly to Hall, the Bermuda international placed his finish into the bottom corner.
“The visitors would equalise five minutes later as Tommy McDermott converted from close range with a clinical one-on-one finish. Immediately from the restart, the Tigers were awarded a penalty as Murray Campbell handled in the area. Green stepped up to take the spot-kick, but Lewis Forshaw guessed the correct way to parry the effort destined for the bottom corner away. In the other goal, Callum Yam pushed away Tom Tweedy’s dipping drive from range while Fleming hit the side netting from a half volley at the other end.
“On the 25th minute, the Tigers restored their lead as Rocco Coyle’s corner picked out Green on the edge of the penalty area. The City captain took one touch before curling his finish towards goal and, with the aid of a deflection, found the top corner.
“Burnley looked for an equaliser as Alex Healy-Byrne teed up McDermott, but his left-footed finish flew over the bar. Vaughn Covil then tried to find a City third when his low strike was parried by Forshaw, before Campbell cleared the rebound as Bora Aydınlık looked to convert the rebound. From the resulting corner by Green, Forshaw spilt the original delivery, but made amends to hold Ashbee’s volley.
“The Tigers were hungry for more goals in the second half as Covil threaded the ball through for Aydınlık, but a great sliding challenge by Campbell denied the forward. City netted their third on the 50th minute as Sellars-Fleming was on hand to convert at the back post following a delivery from the left flank.
“Ashbee then headed over from Green’s free-kick, before Yam denied Vernon Masara at his near post, pushing behind the striker’s powerful attempt. In the other goal, Forshaw held Sellars-Fleming’s shot before he acrobatically denied Hall a second with a diving save. From the resulting set-piece, a goalmouth scramble was formed, and Trialist B got the decisive touch to poke the ball over the line for City’s fourth of the evening.
“Four minutes later, City got a fifth as Aydınlık was brought down by Joe Ashton in the penalty area. Prior to the spot-kick, the referee sent Benn Ward off for dissent before Sellars-Fleming confidently dispatched the penalty by sending Forshaw the wrong way to find the bottom left-hand corner.
“Continuing the search for more goals, Trialist A was denied one-on-one by Forshaw before Sellars-Fleming secured his hat-trick with the best finish of the night. Receiving the ball on the edge of the Burnley penalty area, the forward switched the ball onto his right foot before curling his finish into the top corner. In stoppage-time, substitute Jake Brown searched for a seventh goal, but his finish five minutes in injury-time was saved by Forshaw at his near post.”
