Casting Call For ‘Magic Of The Musicals 2′
The Gilbert and Sullivan Society of Bermuda announced a local casting call for their 2024 production ‘Magic of the Musicals 2′.
As spokesperson said, “Magic of the Musicals 2 will deliver a stylish take on some of the best-loved moments from musicals with current showstoppers, old classics and lovely show tunes. There will be big choreographed production numbers and some beautiful simple standalone songs.
“The show will focus on a diverse group of everyone’s favourite songs from a wide variety of shows from Broadway to London’s West End. We have secured the same overseas Musical Director and Artistic Director from our last three productions and are confident that Magic will deliver a theater experience that will meet our standard of excellence.
“We are looking to cast the Adult Ensemble [17+ at time of audition], the Teen Ensemble [13 to 16 at time of audition] and the Children’s Chorus [10 to 12 at time of audition]. Initial Auditions will be a video audition and must be submitted by May 5th 2024 along with a headshot and the audition form.
“The video audition submission can be any song but it is advised that an instrumental backing track is used. If assistance is needed for the video audition, please indicate on the audition form or email gandsaudition@gmail.com to be sent a sign-up genius link to organize a recording time on May 4th 2024. “Call-backs including a dance audition will take place the weekend of May 17th 2024. Performers will be notified by May 10th 2024 if they are required for these call-backs. Not everyone who will be cast will be called for these callback/recalls.
“Rehearsals will begin August 19th 2024 and will take place in the evenings after 5 p.m. and during the day on Saturday and Sunday. The expectation is that cast will attend all rehearsals they are called for, and attendance is required once rehearsals move into City Hall on September 19th 2024. The dress rehearsals will take place on September 30th, October 1st and October 2nd 2024 and the performance will run from October 3rd to 12th 2024 [7pm shows with 2 pm matinee on Saturdays & the middle Sunday].
